Morado 12 Inch Clock

$175.00

Less isn't a compromise. Sometimes it's the whole point.

Look at the right half of this clock. Really look at it.

The grain doesn't run straight like a well-behaved hardwood. It swirls. It billows. It does something in the upper right quadrant that looks less like wood and more like smoke caught mid-motion, or water just after something disturbed it, or the moment before a storm decides what it's going to do. This is Morado — the Bolivian hardwood also known as Pau Ferro, Iron Wood — and it always has a story of its own before becoming a clock face.

The left half is composed, the grain running in clean parallel lines. The right half is not. They exist on the same face, separated by an invisible boundary, each entirely sure of itself.

Against all of that — four solid brass hour markers, one at each cardinal point. Just four. Not twelve. The decision is deliberate: this face doesn't need twelve markers any more than a great painting needs a caption. The brass hands sweep across the grain in warm gold, unhurried, right at home. Nothing competes with the wood. Nothing needs to.

At 12 inches, this is the smallest canvas in the collection, and the wood fills every inch of it.
